Ben thinks one of the quite humbling things about the experience, is that they delude themselves that they aren't confrontational people on the outside world and that they are fairly relaxed..
BEN: And then when you're thrown into somewhere like this.. you realise that you, yourself can be a nightmare and that's quite humbling!
Nathan, Shabby and Govan are in the garden. Shabs will kick the f**k off next week if she stays tonight and is then up for eviction again!! She's already planned her nominations and one of them there is no changing her mind on.
At the sofas, John tells Steve how he finds it very strange 'that you, me and Nate are quite similar.'
JOHN: I describe myself as a realistic person.. there are a lot of things that you say, that I don't even bother saying anything cos I just agree with it.. the same with a lot of things Nathan says as well! (Steve also agrees with Nathan) A lot of things Nathan has said, I've thought 'yeah, I would have said exactly the same thing.
I always thought John and Nathan couldn't be further apart.. on the surface they only seem to share a gender and a mutual love for sport. Yet, John believed that he shared similar viewpoints and outlooks to Nathan .. with the exception of his perspective towards women and his morals. I don't expect John would feel too similar to Nathan nowadays.
Nathan tells Shabby that she is going nowhere tonight but she can't help but feel that (even if she doesn't) she will be up every week anyway.
NATHAN: And they can't take my other piece of ass away from me! (referring to Rachael, his now real-life girlfriend and fiance if I'm not mistaken)
Govan giggles that in Nathan's eyes there is only one option for eviction - which by process of elimination, would be Sunshine.
NATHAN: It is as simple as that! No one is taking my broads away from me!! I need a harem of women around me at all times.
Govan can't help feeling guilty as he's really warmed to Sunshine but doesn't feel bad either that he thinks she will go, though it's a shame. Nathan is sorry but Shabby is his mate and so is Rachael slash love-interest 'and Sunshine isn't, sorry!'
6.55pm, Sunshine, John James, Ben, Dave and Shabby are on the sofas. Dave discusses the reality is that it will all be over in a few hours. Shabby just doesn't want any of it to be over though! :(
SHABBY: In real life, you never get to experience the full spectrum of emotions.. so you think you feel happy and you think you feel sad and you think you feel angry.. but their diluted versions of those emotions. Whereas, here I've really felt the full range. When I've had rage, I've REEEALLY had rage..
And elaborates that when they won the task that day she'd felt truly elated which is something she hadn't felt in a long time. John and Josie near enough experienced the full spectrum of emotions over and because of each other at one point or another. Even over the course, of one day they could make each other FEEL so many different emotions.. they just made each other feel! And now I'm humming Michael Jackson's 'the way you make me feel!!' :D
Some of the HM's are in the bedroom. Josie checks whether anybody else wants to straighten their hair after she has finished hers and she is looking pretty :) Steve jokes 'yeah, I'd love to do mine!' Straighteners would scald his scalp of baldilocks!!!
Ben compliments Rachael's hair for looking very nice and she thanks the 'babe.' Ben then attempts to straighten his quiff while worrying about the boos he may receive when he is eventually evicted. Mario tries to squash these fears as he doesn't even know what the public opinion of him will be. Ben's hope after the boos upon his entrance is that he can redeem himself and that people will see good things but 'I've been in the wrong place at the wrong time a lot of times.' He thinks the public will perceive him as a bully to Sunshine and a wind up for Shabby and that he'll be portrayed as a horrible person.
MARIO: Or they may portray you as being extremely funny with it. The mob is a fickle beast! They'll love you one minute, they'll hate you the next and the next they'll love you again.
Nathan whoop whoops at Josie's prettiness when he comes into the room and proceeds to paw the poor lass! Bet she was cursing her gorgeous hair for having such a powerful effect on men!!
Ben beseeches Mario for his insight into what parts of his character could create negative portrayals on the outside or wind people up. Mario doesn't know and would have to think about it. Ben heaps praise upon his friend for being flawless 'everyone loves you!' which Mario is not so inclined to agree with. Mario thinks Ben is just unlucky, stepping into the wrong place at the wrong time.
10.09pm, all the HM's are gathered in the living room for the first eviction. John in particular, seems especially anxious despite not being nominated himself. Steve, Josie and Nathan are giggling away and their expressions quickly vanish when they hear very audibly the first chants of 'GET SUNSHINE OUT!' They gaze across at her to see if she has heard them too.. she has! Sunshine is scared that they hate her.
Davina speaks to the house and addresses Rachael, Shabby and Sunshine she tells them that the votes have been counted and verified. Dave reassures that they are saying 'get someone out!' although it could be heard as clear as day that this was untrue. Rachael whispers to Corin and Govan that her heart has never beaten so fast right before Davina reveals that RACHAEL is the first person to be leaving the BB house.
John's reaction seems to be a mixture of relief that Sunshine and Shabby's name was not called and feeling bad that Rachael is out. His conscience may have attributed some of his resentment for Rachael to be partly responsible for her being evicted - when the public had largely formulated the same opinion of her. Rachael told them it would be her! The HM's huddle round to say their farewells to Rachael in her final 10 seconds before Davina comes to get her.
Govan is so upset when his turn comes to say his goodbyes to his girl :( Josie is unable to reach Rachael before she leaves so calls 'we love you!' The HM's stand by the door and clap her on her way out, she waves and they listen to hear the response from the crowd.
On the actual eviction episode the boos were not that apparent and her reaction seemed to be rather favourable.. so the sound may have been amplified into the house.. or drowned out by the music on the actual eviction show. Steve confirms she received heavy boos!
NATHAN: That's f**king rough, is this!!
CORIN: Not everyone can love you, but you're still here!! (tries to console Sunshine in her cheery way)
Dave and John both show Sunshine support as she is sad over the chants. Dave again insists that they were chanting get SOMEONE out as it was the first eviction.. and if it had really been her name then she would have been out. Dave hugs her, Ben gives her kisses and John gives a tight squeeze and hair rub to comfort her.
There are cuddles all round and Steve states how cruel and harsh that had been. 10.32pm, some of the HM's are in the living room. It's been 4 minutes since Rachael became the first HM to be evicted.
At the sofas, Sunshine makes Mario solemnly swear (well promise) that not even for a second had he heard her name chanted. She then asks Govan, knowing he will tell her straight and not sugar coat it to her like her friends have. He says, first he'd heard SOMEONE and then someone called Rachael!!
JOHN: You just think you heard Sunshine, cos it sounded like someone .. but it wasn't, it was someone!
Shabby and Caoimhe are in the bathroom. Shabby can't believe she wasn't getting booed. HM's are unaware that after being evicted, Rachael was asked to choose a good or bad prediction from Bob Righter for one of her fellow HM's. She chose Corin!
Bob springs to life in all his scary, sinister glory and even Shabby says that she is scared of him!! Maybe it wasn't just me that he tormented in nightmares! Govan reads the card aloud to the group 'Bob Righter's eyes shine a magic light, tomorrow for Corin is looking bright!'
CORIN: WHAT?? What the hell does that mean?? (and takes the card to re-read it)
Corin is convinced that she'll have to paint herself bright red. Sunshine points out that bright could mean intelligent and sparkly and Caoimhe considers that she could be getting her suitcase back. Sunshine then suggests that maybe BB will give her some lessons to make her brighter.
CORIN: I'll hardly sleep tonight!
She is excited but finds it weird how her name can just come out of Bob Righter.
11.04pm, it's been 44 minutes since Rachael was evicted. All the HM's are in the living room.
Corin continues to figure out what Bob Righter's prediction could entail and wishes 'maybe, I might get to go to the sunbed shop!!' Sunshine says it would be easy for BB to turn the task room into a salon and get a sun bed inside. Corin jokes she'll never come out if they have :D
The bedroom and kitchen are re-opened much to the HM's happiness :) Govan is feeling down and John gives the head a gentle rub as he passes him at the sofas. Sunshine spots him start to cry and cuddles him up closely. She could be such a sweetie sometimes :)
GOVAN: We can carry on getting to know each other now, can't we?
He isn't upset because Sunshine is still there but feels really sorry for Rachael as he thinks some would have handled it better.. although, nobody is going to like it. 'She was really, really scared.'
SUNSHINE: Thing is, it's like John said earlier, at some point everyone's gonna get scrutinised. Everybody.
And while most HM's mostly go in expecting to receive a high level of scrutiny while they are a contestant in BB .. and even for a period of time after they leave..I don't think ANYONE should expect them to give us every inch of their life! Or for them to share every single thing they do and feel. Yes, they signed up to take part in the show .. and yes, Josie chose a path to stay in the public eye.. but that doesn't mean anyone who has opted for this life, has lost all rights to any degree of privacy for themselves!
If they decide to put something out publicly then that is their own doing but when it is dug up and published to the world without permission - that is another story!! No human being on the planet deserves to be hurled at with hatred and some of the vile tweets John and Josie have been the recipient of! What's wrong with this world? :(
Smokers spark up beside the carousel in supreme need of nicotine! Nathan is 'f**king devo-ed' him.. and admits that he fancied Rachael massively, his 'little sexy senorita.' Josie joins them outside Shabby doesn't think any of them expected the eviction to hit them that hard 'the whole night was horrendous!'
Back to Sunshine consoling her new chum at the couch.
SUNSHINE: People hear what they wanna hear.. not what they wanna hear, people hear the worst!
She elaborates that Govan heard boos for Rachael she hadn't but had heard the Get Sunshine out jeers when nobody else did (or confessed to it!) Govan is perfectly honest that someone had shouted that when they were in the garden but it was literally one person. He thinks that the votes speak for everything and he doesn't want her to feel sad as she should be really happy to stay.
Govan puts it this way, if he'd been saved he WOULD be happy 'and rightly so' and thinks she should be. They plan for an early night but look forward to having more pillow fights.
11.51pm, all the HM's have gathered in the kitchen. BB has provided the HM's with alcohol. Shabby asks who wants to call the toast, John thinks she should and others agree.
SHABS: Um, I'm really f**king happy to still be here .. um but I just really hope things are cool for Rachael, I know they will be and I hope you know.. I don't know..I've got nothing.
Sunshine also raises her glass to being really, really happy to be here 'to another week of happiness!' :) Shabby adds 'and to Rachael!' They also toast to Corin's bright day tomorrow.
1.07am, Mario, Nathan and Dave are in the bedroom. Nathan reveals that the experience so far is so different to what he had expected and he'd only watched the first 2 series of BB. Dave had only watched the first 2 also. Nathan goes on that it is such a different experience being ON the show to watching it and that he reckons he'll learn a lot about himself 'f**king hell, I already have!'
Josie and John James are in the closet having one of their deep and meaningfuls :)
JOHN: I'm not really worried about the.. about the..
JOSIE: What aren't you really worried about?
JOHN: I don't know.. I'm just gonna try and have fun for the next week and then just .. yeah..
JOSIE: Try and have fun the next w..what? Do you think you're going, do you?
JOHN: Oh yeah! 100 per cent!!
JOSIE: Don't be stupid..
JOHN: Oh, I think anyone with half a brain knows that.. I don't care but..
JOSIE: Why, why do you think that?
JOHN: In a way, I'm glad I didn't get to go first cos..
JOSIE: Why do you think that?
JOHN: Why do I think that? Oh, as soon as I'm up, I'm gone! (laughs)
JOSIE: But everyone can see you're a nice guy, can't they?
JOHN: No, I don't think they can.. I don't think they do.. everybody took Rachael's side.. everybody.. I was on my own!
JOSIE: What in here?
JOHN: Yeah, do you know when Gov sorta went off with Rach I was nearl..I was so close to walking..
Poor fella was paranoid that he'd be out on his ass the second he was nominated but he didn't leave until the final week! John's right that not everyone can see he's a nice guy.. even Josie can't now :'( One day she could remember! I think one of the big reasons he walked away because he thought everyone would take Josie's side and he felt so alone.. he had JJ but most of his friends were back in Australia, people he KNEW would take his side and have his back.
JOSIE: Yeah, but at the end of the day..
CORIN: (Has entered the closet and completes the sentence) But at the end of the day it's night! (they chuckle)
JOSIE: I can't see it myself, John.. (Corin wants the lowdown so Josie explains that John thinks he's going)
JOHN: For sure!
CORIN: Oh, SHUT UP! No, you're not..
JOSIE: You ain't going nowhere, boy.
CORIN: Everyday something different happens in here and probably things might be better now .. just for the fact, you and Rachael didn't get on.
1.23am, some of the HM's are in the bedroom. JJJ are now talking together alone on John's single bed.
JOHN: Well, I'm not a genius.. I just see beyond the looks, that's the only difference!
JOSIE: Why do you still keep going on about it then?
JOHN: It's not hard to see beyond someone's looks..there's more than meets the eye.
This outlook John has may well be why he wasn't interested in Corin or Rachael once he saw past their outer attractiveness as their insides were ugly to him. He found Josie beautiful inside and out.. but when people fight so much, the love becomes weaker and the negative aspects of your partner are brought to the forefront making them become less attractive in your own eyes.
JOSIE: You're gonna make someone a really nice boyfriend one day! (YES, your OWN for a while at least!! And now maybe he is being a nice boyfriend to another girl)
JOHN: You said I was a prick!!
JOSIE: Huh? (John repeats his comment) No I never!
JOHN: Yes, you did. (Josie can't think when) 'I'd hate to have you as a boyfriend!' you said that before 'I'd hate to have you as a boyfriend, you're a prick!'
It turns out, after the relationship ended and resentment still lingers.. Josie remembers more of the 'prick' elements to John's personality and less of the loving ones. Similarly, John probably more predominantly recalls the 'cowbag' traits in Josie's character over the compassionate ones. As is common, when you have been broken up for this length of time.
JOSIE: (Has no recollection of this) When did I say that?
JOHN: When I had that tiff with Rachael.
JOSIE: (Corrects him) Noo, I said 'if you ever spoke to me like that, you'd have no teeth!' (they laugh) That's what I said, thank you very much!
John ooooowww's as he has cut his fingernail too low. Steve rejoices in realising that Bob Righter is an anagram for Big Brother but Josie doesn't get it! They can't believe it took them TEN days to work that out. Shabby hi-fives Steve 'are we a bunch of idiots, or what?'
Corin has come to the Diary room to talk to BB.
Corin is a bit tipsy after one glass of wine and she's just 'like lovin' it!!' especially after getting the 'gift out of that Bob thing!' She asks if it is going to be 'summat rubbish' but hopes it will be good instead of dressing up like an orange and having her HM's chuck oranges at her. She lists off all the possibilities that have entered her mind: seeing friends and family, a secret room with HM's, getting her suitcase back, having to spray her body in the darkest fake tan ever, staring at the sun for as long as she can, standing in glass and looking at bright bright bright stars, or her Mum or someone close to her coming in and that she'd get to sing 'Always look on the bright side of life'
This was a song she used to sing to her Mum as she used to get a bad back. She has a bit of a sing song and then decides she 'therefore won't embarrass herself' by guessing after already exhausting any eventualities but secretly she does think it is summat good :)
Reminds me how Corin was like,a 30yrs old woman,in a body of a 13yrs old girl....or maybe she's just easily happy and surprised like OMG!!
ReplyDeleteJohn always assume the worst,as he said he's a realist...but maybe he's just not confident enough in his own skin,so will assume ppl gonna hate him.
just brilliant
