In the lounge Rachael concedes to John that she's jealous that he gets on with everyone in the house. John dismisses this
and actually thinks she'd get on with more people than him as she smokes (and the smoker's group was larger in number
at the start of BB) whereas he only goes out to the carousel every now and then. Rachael admits that when he is with
someone she literally feels like she can't go over and talk with them. John explains that he feels the same about (Caoimhe,
Ife and Shabby) the three girls in the bathroom so he wouldn't go in there and interrupt.
He thinks that is the exact same situation as he couldn't walk in the bathroom and start having a chat. (Not while the
troublesome trio are rub-a-dubbing in the tub!) Rachael wants to sort their differences as she likes him loads and thinks
he's wicked. When John had first brought her up on the 'face' she kept doing it to be silly as she thought it was a joke. She
hadn't realised that he took such offence to it.
John lets her know that he wasn't going to bring it up but since she wants to know why ..
JOHN: It's not that I don't like you ..I haven't really spoken to you enough to not like you.. so of course I
am gonna come to certain assumptions.. because I don't know you, I can only read a certain amount
when you do that..
I guess it is natural as humankind, that we do assume things about a person based on first
impressions and judge by looks when we don't know them – even though we shouldn't.
Rachael asserts that she isn't looking down on him at all with her glance 'maybe we just don't get each other.' She
pleads for him not to feel like she doesn't like him. John divulges that he wouldn't care if she did or didn't like him but
Rachael reaffirms that she DOES care. John had thought she'd been offended when they'd been chatting in the garden
about a girl on a bonnet. She hadn't - she thought it was funny.
He suddenly smiles at someone he spots in the corner of his eye. I expect it is one of the HM's attempting to earwig on their
chat. Rachael maintains that if she'd found it offensive she would have voiced her disgust. John isn't bothered whether
what he'd said had been offensive or not. He encourages her to speak up if she has something to say as he can take it. Rach
is adamant that she doesn't have a problem with John. If she does it to other people it's really nothing to do with him.
JOHN:If you keep doing it to me .. why would I approach someone like that? That every time I look at
them they're like (the 'look') .. I'm talking sh*t or I'm an idiot that look could mean so many different
things (She knows) .. it could mean like 'you're scum' .. it could mean anything!
He just has to assume what it means and even though she's said he stares at people too.. she asks if he thinks she just does
this to him. He doesn't as he sees her doing it all the time but just isn't sure why. Rachael claims that she gives this look
when she's thinking about stuff. Rachael turns around to see what's going on, as John laughs that they are watching.
Govan, Corin and Nathan are spying through the bedroom window out of nosiness and to take in their own episode of BB.
John feels bad as he should have brought it up with her sooner but he was just going to ignore it.
RACHAEL: Do you think I'm a horrible person?
John doesn't think she is, but the look could mean that she is looking down on someone or feels she is better. He asks if she
understands that if he looked around like that 110% of the time that is the look he would give if he was looking down on
someone. He emphasises that she does it a LOT .. 'a reeeeal lot!'
Rachael feels stupid and wants to talk about it tomorrow. John doesn't understand what the big deal is about talking to him
now is and wants her to shoot. He demands to know whether she is going to explain (why she does the look) Rachael didn't
realise it offended him so much and feels terrible.
JOHN: If other people aren't worried about it .. I'm not gonna go out of my way to talk to you when you
give those looks! Cos then I feel like if I said something that was not right.. or something you didn't get,
you would go .. (scrunched up facial expression)
Rachael remarks that she only does it in a jokey way. John comments that although she has said he does a similar look he
will always laugh afterwards.
JOHN: I never full give anyone a full greezy (?) .. and just leave it like that .. I don't feel I have done that to
anybody. If I have, full credit to them and they can say something but.. I do frown a lot but you change
your complete face (imitates what she does and how it changes the next minute) and you hold it for ages (contorts
his face to make his point) I've seen you before..
He re-iterates to Rachael that it isn't just to him as he's seen her do it across the room.
JOHN: And I'm sure sometimes you are thinking that certain person's a deadset knob!! cos I'm sure you
are thinking that .. and I'm not saying I don't ever think that about someone, because of course I do..
He'd be like this as well if he was listening to someone talk sh*t but she does it a real lot. I think she is beginning to get the
picture that you are painting.. the dots are connecting. He was wondering why and she elaborates that of course she will
make this face if someone says something she doesn't agree with.
Rachael says she is unable to hide or control her facial expressions and that sometimes she does mean it or thinks that
someone is talking sh*t 'so I want to show I don't agree with them but also.. maybe I use that face to hide
what I'm really thinking.'
JOHN: It doesn't matter because I'm just one person! And no one has said anything about it to me,
whatsoever!
Rachael becomes embarrassed as she reveals that she thinks he is 'dead hot' but John would rather she say that than
look at him like he's an idiot! (as previously blogged) She repeats that she doesn't think he's an idiot. John hasn't ever
caught her looking at him which she is relieved about.
JOHN: I honestly don't pay that much attention .. not just to you but to anyone in particular .. like we're
just a bunch of people living in a little house .. but at the same time I couldn't be .. if a girl was to look at
me like that in the outside world ..
RACHAEL: You wouldn't give them the time of day?
JOHN: No, definitely not! 100%! And I would say something .. the only reason I haven't said something to
you so far is because it is a small house, heaps of sh*ts going on and it's not really worth it to bring it to
your attention, in order to make .. like I didn't want to make you upset or anything.
But as she has asked him the question and wants to know he is telling her. He hadn't wanted Rachael to get the feeling that
he had a problem with her 'but obviously you've picked up on it.. and since you've noticed, I may as well tell
you why!'
Rachael vows to make more of an effort not to do the look but John would rather she explained WHY she does it. He laughs
when Rachael says she's tried to explain and how she'd wanted to hold off the chat til the morning as she looks disgusting.
John asks why she cares about that and the reason she gives is simply that she likes him but knows he doesn't like her as
she's been horrible to him like a kid at school. He acknowledges that she hasn't been horrible intentionally but he just
wouldn't 'look at anyone like that unless I thought they were below me .. and I don't think I'm above
anyone! I truly don't! I never have thought like that..'
Nathan, Corin and Govan wisecrack that watching John and Rachael is like watching Big Brother. Govan wishes he had
expendable ears and hisses at the other HM's in the bedroom to quieten down 'we're trying to snoop!' (ad break)
John says he does have a sense of humour and she knows that he laughs at most things in the house – they spot Govan
sneaking closer spying and laugh it off. John again makes the point that he's not the only one who has seen her look. He
tells her that if he was speaking with someone and saw her with that face on he would say something. Rachael is glad he
has said something now and pulled her up on it.
JOHN: Because people will get the wrong impression (he reels off the list of the things her facial expression could
mean) so just be aware of it.
I think John is giving over the wrong impression of himself on twitter recently .. maybe as he
feels Josie has been giving the wrong impression of him? Some of his behaviour has been
uncharacteristically bizarre .. especially for a person who wants to give off the impression
that he is over it all and has moved on. We always knew he was a forthright, hot-tempered
Aussie but some of his tweets have been callous and cold .. which is a side of John we are not
used to seeing him show over Josie.
He says his opinion doesn't matter and it is only what he thinks. Rachael argues to the contrary as they have to live with
each other and just wants them to understand each other.
John accentuates how arrogant it comes across and he doesn't know if she agrees with it. He explains that if someone
pulled that face where he lives.. but is broken off by a bug on all fours in the shape of Govan. Rachael tells him to p*ss off.
JOHN: (stresses) I really, really, really dislike arrogant people and that's how you come across to me.
I wonder if he felt Josie was or has become arrogant since BB on account of her popularity? Does
anyone else get that feeling? Like when he mocked her while arguing about being Britain's
sweetheart and English rose .. did he think she had bought into this opinion of herself? I don't
think she is or has become arrogant and arrogance is one of the characteristics she has always
hated.
Mario gets in on the act and crawls out of the bedroom in order to overhear the quarrel. Rachael orders him to return to the
bedroom and close the door as a favour. John just couldn't be bothered, in a house like that
JOHN: It does f**ks me off.. a lot! But it's up to you if you want to do something about it and make an effort
and you do want to be friends .. then I'm quite happy to do that.. but I won't continue to do that while
you've got that look (laughs) on your face .. to me.
If Josie proved that she truly wanted John's friendship back and sought sincere forgiveness from
him - would he too make that effort to resolve their differences? But while she continues to
slander his name and the swipes from them both carry on, they won't be able to settle these
scores.. and neither appear willing to do so at the moment.
John understands that the look is sometimes valid if she uses it on others. He is aware that he does a lot of stupid sh*t but
not constantly. Then recommends that she laugh or joke afterwards so people realise she isn't serious.
Sunshine playfully ponders 'are Josie's ears any use for that?' as Govan has again commented on his desire for
expendable ears! They fear that BB will soon close the curtains to put an end to their fun at John and Rachael's expense.
Rachael notices they have left the door open again but offers to work on it.
John grants that she is her own person and it is up to her; he wants Rachael to realise that they are all 100% equal in the
house and no one deserves to be there more than anyone else.
JOHN: So as long as you treat it like that then all will be fine.. so you don't have to put in extra effort with
anyone else ..
Rachael finds it hard as she hasn't really gotten to know anyone yet (despite only being there a week) she doesn't want
John to think badly of her. She does want them to have a laugh but he probably thinks she 'looks like an evil b**ch'
and doesn't want to sit with her.
JOHN: Exactly! I'm not one to really whinge about it .. but I will whinge about it..
She asks if it's okay if they try to be normal tomorrow and if she could sit next to him and talk with him. He answers that he's
always fine with that but if she looks at him that way he will take offence to it - depending on the situation.
Sunshine subscribes to John being 'a pretty boy!' when Govan states his belief that John is really into Rachael but pretty
girls used to lay in to him at school! They watch on through the window wishing they had popcorn to pass around the room.
Rachael feels that as they have friends in common it makes it awkward that they don't get on and she's seriously sorry
that John thinks like that of her.
JOHN: The idea of us being in this house is that you've gotta be who you really are.. (cuts to shots of the spies!) ..
if you do genuinely want to talk .. then you will have to make an effort .. if you don't then just tell me to get
f**ked and I'll never bring it up ever again!
JOHN: I'm not asking you to change your personality .. because if that's how you are, then that's how you
are! And that's how you should be, because you shouldn't have to change your personality just because of
what one person thinks .. because who the f**k am I?
So if John and Josie actually do want to talk one more time to vent it out of their systems then
it is THEM who need to make that effort. If they have at some point told the other in no uncertain
terms to get f**ked then I don't see how any amount of grovelling will solve their stubbornness.I
wonder whether John and Josie tried to change each other in their relationship so that they would
be happier. When really it is down to the person to decide whether they want to work on their
failings and overcome their weaknesses. I'm not sure to what extent they have realised or
acknowledged that they both have things they need to work on in order to have any successful
relationship in the future .. and even to be happy within themselves. If they haven't already
grasped this .. I hope they will soon!
Although John has stressed again that all HM's are equal in the house, Rachael confides that she feels lower than
everyone else in the house as she could potentially go (in the impending eviction). John thought Dave's choice of
her was random but Rachael refutes this. John hasn't spoken to Dave as he doesn't want to get in trouble about
speaking about nominations so honestly doesn't know Dave's reasons (other than the fact that he heard Dave thought
her and Steve were favourites).
She clearly doesn't agree this is the case as she was booed by 99% of the crowd when entering. John reminds her that so
many people come in booed and come out cheered (and vice versa which was sadly the case for John) and that he
wouldn't take any notice of that at all.
He believes the reason she was booed was because of what she said on her VT which he had also seen.
RACHAEL: So you thought straight away, 'she's arrogant?'
JOHN: Of course, of course! (reasons that's why the crowd booed you) and to top it off .. I'm always willing to
give a person another chance..
I know some people don't feel like he gave Josie enough of a chance but we aren't privy to the
ins and outs of their relationship .. or how many chances they gave one another. So we cannot
make that judgment call for either of them.
He reckons that on recording their VT's they probably said stuff that they think they shouldn't have or that was out of line
but you're caught on the moment, so you have to react! So I wasn't gonna hold you purely on that.'
We know John and Josie both have powerful mouths that they used both to express their love and
affection to each other .. but also as weapons to wound and shoot devastating blows. In the
moment, I don't doubt they both said horrifically awful things as a reflex reaction .. but
inside, didn't mean them even a little bit :( You can forgive but you'll never forget .. and
the first thousand times or so they may have forgiven and not held their arguments against each
other .. but the 1001st time the stitches could have ripped out and the sting of sorrow is
unsufferable.
JOHN: Not only did you say you loved yourself .. (Rachael confirms they had cut the rest off but John hadn't got to
see that) so I only got to see what the crowd saw .. so naturally they were booing and if I was in the crowd I
probably would have booed as well!
Then the next time he saw her and met her she was walking around the house like this. 'What else would I think? I
really had no choice.. (SC) .. so I thought ok, she's an arrogant person, she does love herself and she's
giving people that look. I don't talk to people like that on the outside, male or female ..'
He says if she's not like that, they'll give it a chance and see how it goes 'but don't get upset about it!' She sulks that she's
not upset then contradicts herself (after John states his opinion means 2/5 ths of f**k all as he's just 1 HM out of 14) that it's
making her sad as she actually likes him and she feels like a horrible person.
JOHN: You're not a horrible person cos you've got a lot of friends in here (Rachael doesn't feel like she has
sometimes) You've got those 3 in there, you've got Govan, you've got Josie, you've got Nathan ..
But Rachael regards him as closer to more people which he wouldn't say so. He says it is up to her what she wants to do but
he does have a problem with that look 'I'll leave it with you.' (on whether she wants to do anything to change and
resolve things) Rachael does want to get to know him if he is willing - which he is.
RACHAEL: If you forget everything you've seen before.. and the VT and erm.. and like me being a horri..
like me being horrible to ya .. if you can forget all that.. then I definitely.. I wanna be your friend.!
The chat comes to a close (after discussing things for the best part of half an hour) and he ruffles her hair briefly and she
rushes into the bathroom toilet and reduced to tears. Either she'd been holding that in throughout and is amazing at
covering her emotion .. or she put on the insincere tears.
How much I would love there to be a potion that helps you forget all the horrible things that
have happened .. I would tip half the bottle each into Josie's rose and John's ribena!!!
After a minute or so, she has composed herself and comes back into the bathroom. Rachael tells the girls she is a bit upset
but doesn't want to talk about it and is going for a fag. (ad break) Out in the garden she fills in Nathan, Corin and Govan on
how John had implied that she was better friends with HM's in the group as she smokes. They all agree that he is just as
good friends with others. (This all happens after the HL action ends so shows how the story unfolds throughout the early
hours of the morning)
Nathan tries to make Rachael feel better 'He's trying to mould you into a perfect wife!' Corin crows that she
shouldn't change who she is for anyone. After Govan declares that John fancies her (in his twisted opinion!) she states
that he doesn't and is convinced he has already made his mind up not to give her another chance. Nathan says he won't
stop liking John because of this but he doesn't think Rachael should have to change.
RACHAEL: It's been a right crappy day!
Corin's solution to cheering yourself up after crappy days: get in the sun in your bikini the next day! :D
They head inside and Rach returns Shabby's jacket (she has been bathing for 2 and a half hours) she promises to tell them
all in the morning as she just wants to go to bed.
Govan has joined John and Josie on the double bed. John explains to Gov that Rachael had f**ked him off today.
JOHN:I told you if she goes me, I'll go .. and I would.. The only reason I held back today was because of the
situation … if that had been on the outside world I would have blasted her!
I'm certain both he and Josie blasted each other brutally - no holds barred in an argument. They
wouldn't have held back with each other and both could be equally cruel and cutting with their
comments. They know exactly what would hurt the other most .. and maybe used it to their advantage
at times..
Govan giggles that John is 'full on!' as John dishes back 'says you!' before proceeding with venting that it had really
f**ked him off when Govan bitched about him.
JOHN: Because don't think for a second that anything .. everything I've said I would say to their face,
don't worry about that!
It would be slightly better if they had the opportunity or inclination to get everything they
needed to say off their chests, face to face.. rather than all the indirect tweets and digs
over twitter to and about each other. Doubt whether their paths will ever cross for this to
happen or if they'd even like for it to.
Govan lets John know that Rachael had been crying. John voices that he might not like the situation but he will go.
JOHN: If you think nothing else of me, don't think I'm like that .. cos that's worse than two-faced. I would
never ever EVER try and sway someone into thinking something of someone they didn't already think.
Never would I do that.
Whether it is intentional or not every time he or Josie do refer to, or imply something about
each other .. it DOES have the power to sway opinions! I don't think they are that naĆÆve to
believe it couldn't have that effect .. they want people to agree with them and think that
they were right! John may argue that he has aligned himself with certain people as they already
had this particular view of Josie BEFORE he had made certain comments.
He also says he'd had a go at Dave in the nest and accused him of playing a game as he thought he was an idiot for going on
and on and on. (Though he himself is the gold medalist of 'going on and on and on!!')
Josie has been hidden under the bedsheets beside John throughout this chat and John messes 'she's a crafty little mare,
isn't she? She doesn't even like wet willies or nothin'!' (INSERT YOUR OWN SMUTTY COMMENT!!) Govan gets up
asking 'are you two having it off again?'
JOHN: What do you think you're doin'? I come all this way and you never even give me nothin' .. you don't
even talk! I'm not happy about this.
Josie tells him she's trying to sleep but John protests 'NO!' as he wants her to chat to him.
When Govan comes back he asks what they are doing about Shabby 'can I move back into my own bed or what?'
John is itching to have his single bed back; Govan tells him it is fine.
John finds it funny telling Govan that he'd told Rachael how he was booing from the stand just as hard as the crowd after
seeing her VT.
JOHN: And I'm always willing to give someone a second chance.. and I wasn't going to base my opinion
just on that.
But once she'd started shooting THOSE looks it had backed up everything he'd seen on the video, so why the f**k would he
want to talk to her?
For all any of us know, John and Josie could have given each other hundreds of 'chances' before
finishing things. They are entitled to any opinions they have, even if they have been tainted
by post-split bitterness and anger, as they are BASED on knowing each other. The ways they have
behaved since breaking up has probably backed up that ending their relationship was the right
thing for them to do.
John had asked Govan as he is close friends with her instead of Rachael first as 'of course she's going to say, 'I'm not
like that!' she wouldn't say 'I'm an arrogant b***h!' Govan gives Rachael back a glower if he receives one! Govan
is glad Dave hadn't chosen him but by right feels he SHOULD have been. John also believed Dave would have picked him as
his replacement after winning the task. Govan is worried that Rachael has a far bigger chance of going because of the boos
she received upon entering the house and Dave knew this.
A sleepy Josie is thirsty and Govan offers her some water while John gives her '(sings) lobiest lobe' a wet willy much to
her annoyance.
John knows for a fact that Dave didn't pick Rachael as he thought she was a favourite! 'I might ask him about that
tomorrow.' Govan concurs it is common sense and that he'd had no reason to choose Rachael other than her being
more likely to go. He doesn't buy that Dave didn't decide to swap him as he wants to get to know him better. Dave is
unsure how people are perceived in the outside world but with Rachael he has more clarity that she might be disliked.
John reckons Rachael is being 'extra nice to cover herself cos of the position she's in.' Govan disagrees as he knows
Rachael is into John and therefore doesn't want him to hate her. He doesn't think she is that bad so John points out
'but everything I said she agreed with. She said 'I understand why you feel that way.' (Not exactly John
but believe what you wanna believe!!) Govan tries to make him see that people would also have assumed that he
was arrogant being a blonde pretty boy as it is an automatic assumption about good looking people.
Govan asserts that he finds Rachael very attractive and that she can care a bit too much about what she looks like - but it
doesn't offend him. If it did, they wouldn't be friends as he doesn't particularly like arrogant people. He does have one very
arrogant friend but allows it as he has known her since they were kids. John wants to know if people thought he was wrong
or if they understood where he was coming from at all.
And as much as John protests that he doesn't give a rip or care less .. I don't think he wants
to be perceived as wrong .. he likes to know that people do see his point of view and that his
actions are understood. I don't think he thrives on those who do hang on his every word but I
think he appreciates it and it makes him feel in some small way a bit better.
Govan is honest that those who were watching didn't share the same opinion but still like him, as he is welcome to his
opinion. And how Corin thinks Dave is an angel and that there is no bad in the family man. Apparently John cares about
what Nathan thinks of his arguing with Rachaael. (John and Nathan seemed to have a mutual liking for each
other at the start of BB)Govan sets him straight that Nathan hadn't agreed with it. (ad break)
While snacking on the remaining cheese (from the task) in the kitchen John checks with Shabby that she's cool to move
beds with him the next day (so that he can have the single next to Govan and Josie again) She is but didn't realise it was
permanent as she quite likes sleeping on her own! So John suggests waiting until Thursday or Friday and sort it out then
(as Shabby may be evicted!) Shabby defensively 'tactful, John very tactful! Fine, I'm going back to my sleeping
bag on the floor!'
He laughs that he didn't mean it like that and she knows he didn't mean it like that!
SHABBY: I've got cheese with holes in .. so I don't even care!
He, Shabby and Caoimhe agree that it is pretty good cheese. Shabby adds it hadn't looked so good when she had pulled the
instructions out of the 'evil, enemy cheese!'
JOHN: I could be wrong but it didn't appear you were very happy doing it.
Shabby asks 'babes' what he's talking about as she was absolutely 'fine' all day! She would sooner sleep in the hammock
(where Ife currently sleeps) than sleep next to Mario. Shabby voices her annoyance to Caoimhe the 'fake bisexual' that
it had come across that she was bisexual in her VT. John asks Caoimhe if she is bisexual, Shabby condemns her for not
being that way inclined and that BB had probably put her in to be her love match.
Caoimhe says she hadn't expected to fall in love otherwise she would have been kissing Shabby no bother 'let's take it
outside now!' Shabby is up for fisticuffs and belches brazenly.
JOHN: If you do, I'm watching! (not sure I'll ever understand the turn on to a man of two women kissing!)
John and Govan discuss Nathan's opinion on the Rachael situation at the sofas.
JOHN: The only person I really care about is Nate (assuming this is other than Govan and Josie) because I get on
really well with him. So I don't want him to think I'm ratting out anyone.
John wants to clarify if Nathan didn't agree with the way he approached the situation. Govan makes John aware that
Nathan doesn't share that same opinion at all.
JOHN: Did he understand at all where I was coming from.. at all?
As Rachael, unless she lied, had told John she fully understood where he was coming from because she does look at
people like that.
John understands that they don't care but he doesn't like being looked at like that. Govan thinks he should give Rachael a
chance as she really likes him; John says that he will. Govan doesn't want Rachael to go and wants them all to be able to
get along.
JOHN: Do people think I'm a c**khead because of .. I think that?!
Govan shakes his head that not one person has said that; they just don't have the same views as him but that doesn't mean
they think he's a c*ck. John wondered if they believed he has just totally misread the situation. At which point, Rachael
comes past to use the bathroom. Govan doesn't like Dave and thinks he's 'dodgy!' Then they both have a short giggle as
they have watched Rach walk past in her skimpy undies!
GOVAN: Different people see different things in different people.
This is absolutely accurate; several people can observe the exact same person in the exact same
situation and every single observer will have a different view. Some will be polar opposites in
their opinion, others will differ only slightly. If you like that person, then you are more
willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, make justifications and excuses for things they've
done - that others perceive to be negative. If you distinctly despise the person, then you are
more likely to see the worst in their actions and pass it off as an evil or malicious act.
Govan guides that even if what John has said is completely right that he still doesn't find Rachael a bad person. He
considers that Dave does more that he deems 'bad' but comes over as 'nice.' He doesn't believe that Dave is real and is
playing a game as much as anyone else.
JOHN: (Sighs) It's so f**king hard .. cos everyone is faking their own sh*t.
John also states that there are people acting in the house (not sure who he believes this to be true of) and Govan is glad 'I'm
just being me.' Govan is certain that Dave is fake because 'he's SO bothered by what people think outside.. he's so
bothered!.. I believe that colours the way he behaves everyday!' Within a few split seconds Dave comes out of the
bedroom (Did he feel his ears burning?) as Steve is snoring worse than ever.
John understands what Govan means. Dave walks out of the room and Govan draws out his diatribe that Dave doesn't
want to look bad in any shape or form even over something small.
GOVAN: I expect people of that age .. double my age to be a hell of a lot more mature!
John and Josie don't want to be made out to be the 'bad' person but are influencing others to
believe that the other was! I have to cut them some slack over the immaturity of their
behaviour since their split as they are only months older than me and it is probable that in
their situation I would have handled things with even less maturity!!
The scene changes to the garden, where Rachael tells Shabby and Caoimhe how John would never put up with anyone who
speaks or looks at him the way she does, in the real world. The girls don't get it as Rachael fancies John - the talk is cut short
as Rachael doesn't have her microphone on so leaves to retrieve it.
John may be of the opinion that he 'put up' with the way Josie spoke to him and/or treated him
in their relationship. On the other side of the coin, Josie could easily be of the same mind in
regards to the way John behaved towards her.
Govan and John are now in the bathroom, we hear John doesn't feel that the public will like him. Govan assumes he means
they will also dislike him but John disagrees as he's a funny bloke. tells John in the bath room that he thinks the public will
dislike him.
JOHN: You will struggle to win cos you don't hold back.... because people like us, will be up for nomination.
I think if John HAD held back in the last few weeks and not let BB and situations get to him he
could have been a contender to win. I don't think he would have taken the crown, for one thing,
he didn't want to and always wanted this for Josie. He absolutely could have and should have
been in the final though.
At the bench, Rachael has reprised relating to the shocked trio the things John had said to her. They are aghast that he told
her she loves herself. She and Caoimhe had been in the garden when he'd said that he was in the car when his mate was having
sex on the car bonnet; which had grossed them out but found it funny at the same time.
Ife asks if she'd implied the looks were 'come and get me, baby!' She feels stupid and had pledged to make a conscious
effort not to make the horrible looks that offend him. Shabby speculates that John would apologise to her tomorrow. Since he'd
raised this with Rachael the other day she has purposely kept it up as she thought they were messing around. Shabby and
Caoimhe are so surprised as he's usually such a chilled guy, except to BB. She'd noted that when she sits with a group he is with
like Govan and Josie he goes 'dead weird.'
Back to the lads in the bath room Govan says that Dave is the type of person who coaxes him into an argument. He'll have
to learn to deal with it. (ad break) The girls are still gabbing in the garden about John thinking Rachael shoots him dirty
looks when actually Ife describes them as 'come hither eyes.'
IFE: Maybe you're not as good at flirting as you thought!
RACHAEL: I'm terrible in here .. I'm about as flirty as a piece of sh*t!
Shabby asks if she really likes him; Rachael replies that she doesn't anymore but there's nothing to look at 'except you,
Shabby!'
Govan is still in the starring role of Devil's advocate telling John how he might have been right in his eyes.
GOVAN: But it might not have been the right thing to say, whether it is true or not.. because essentially it
can hurt somebody .. and I do think she's hurt.
John and Josie can swear til they are blue in the face about how RIGHT they are but regardless
of the accuracies or mistruths in what they say .. they are still not the most appropriate
things to blurt out in such public forums. Whether or not this makes them feel vindicated to
some degree or helps them to deal with their anger - the things they say have/will/do/did hurt
the other ... even if only a little. Yet, the reason behind these lash outs and hurtful words is
probably because they feel/felt so very hurt themselves.
JOHN: But what was the point in me not saying anything at all? .. she wanted to know so I told her.
Govan doesn't know exactly what he'd said to Rachael as he'd only heard very mild snippets. But he knows 'if you said
what you say to me and Josie she would have been very, very, very upset.'
I actually think we hear the 'mild snippets' of how angry and hurt John and Josie have been. I
don't think they hold back on their emotion but their guns could be blazing far brighter. I'm
thankful for small mercies that we are not told the accounts they share with the circle of
friends and family they trust.
John concedes that he wasn't as extreme with Rachael. Govan describes this as decent honesty as he is still being tactful
about it. John didn't feel there was a need to say 'I F**KING hate you!' and can appreciate that he overreacted the
other night.
JOHN: I don't hate her .. I hate the look. But I dislike her and I told her that.
Just maybe John doesn't HATE Josie but HATES what she has done or what he believes she has done.
Dislikes her, most likely .. but out and out hatred for the first woman he ever loved?? I'm not
sure just how possible that even is over a first love. Would he like to hate her? I don't doubt
it as that would make it a hell of a lot easier to get over 'it' all. In one of the e-mails, Josie
revealed that he had written that he didn't hate her but himself.. I'd say that sounds more like
John. Though, of course since that e-mail was sent, events could have changed his perspective
once more.
He'd explained that he just doesn't like being stared at that way and never has.
JOHN: I said 'who the f**k am I? I'm not anybody.' I said 'you're just as important as anybody in this
house, so we'll all equal and that's what you've got to understand.' So my opinion means 2/5ths of f-all!
(and so do mine!!) but if you want to know it, then I'm gonna tell ya.
He'd told her not to go out of her way to talk to him and make an effort, as they are 14 people living in a house 'we're
gonna bump heads eventually.'
Cut to Rachael, who complains that it wasn't what she'd needed brought to her attention today and will now probably
have the worst nights sleep. Rachael doesn't feel that he's given her a chance and she's come on to prove that she's not
always like her VT. And she feels like an idiot as she'd told BB today that she liked John. Caoimhe is so shocked and Rach
says it had come as totally out of the blue and bizarre.
JOHN: To be honest I don't really care enough to be dead set serious.. I do to you guys, cos I know you
think it's a f**king p*sser!
I don't think John wants to be perceived as still caring about Josie or the situation .. but it
inadvertently DOES come over that way on occasions. As it can be argued that, he would stay
silent if he REALLY didn't seriously care.. Also, maybe he tweets when he does and the things he
does as he knows some of his followers will find it a 'p*sser!'
He admits that sometimes when she does it it's funny so if she laughed after the look he'd be fine with that. But he hates that
sh*t when someone is telling a story and the look pays a visit as 'she's dead set looking at me like I'm a f**kin moron!
And then not only that, she's sitting next to Shabby going 'get a look at this tw*t! And I don't appreciate that.'
He is also incensed that Rachael had admitted to doing that 'and I'm like well 'don't' or you can continue to do
that but don't expect me to talk to you!' He says he didn't care but it still bothered him enough to go over it for
hours on end! And he cannot be friends with someone who looks at people the way Rachael does.
Similarly John reiterates how little he cares now, but it appears evident that this isn't
totally true. It DOES bother him when Josie makes comments about him .. especially as he
doesn't consider them to be the truth! So he lets her get on with it while making indirect
comments back via his twitter. John made it crystal clear he'd prefer for her to say "no
comment" when she is asked questions about him but he can't FORCE her to stop. Same, as Josie
cannot persuade him to in turn, persuade those who support him to stop with their anti-Josie
comments. He could have agreed to give it a shot, but ultimately I do not think it would work.
Those who hate Josie will continue hating, just as the John haters do.
Rachael thinks it is fair enough for her to face the consequences if she had been nominated. Caoimhe doesn't like Dave for
swapping her name. And she also has a grudge against him for his rudeness in telling her that he can't believe she is here
over others in their lockdown group. She had stayed away from him during that period as the drunk on the Holy Spirit
thing had freaked her out and he slept all the time and didn't speak unless it was about the Lord.
John is unrelenting that if Ben never spoke to Rachael again she couldn't give 2 flying f**ks! Govan can't agree as she has
not said that to him and John had asked Ben why he bothers. John KNOWS Rachael knows that Ben fancies her 'it doesn't
take a brain surgeon to work it out.. and she's uncomfortable with it because he keeps touching her..'
John understands where she is coming from on this but he thinks it is arrogant and that 'she should give him the time
of day!'
He has repeatedly questioned Ben on why he cares and keeps sucking up her arse and bringing her water. Ben does so
because he likes her but John is sorry, SHE doesn't like Ben. Govan points out that she might like Ben as a person but just
not sexually. He also expresses that Nathan doesn't have conversations with Ben but this is because they don't have
anything in common and this doesn't mean he's arrogant.
John counters that Ben doesn't try with Nathan but tries a LOT with Rachael and doesn't like that Ben 'gets her f**kin'
glasses of water in the middle of the f**kin' night for f**ks sake!'
JOHN: Just after I'd f**king lectured him (not to).. and he patted me on the head and told me I was right!
(this is what f**ks John off) If he's doing it because he's legit and he wants to bone her or whatever his f**kin
intention is, I don't care .. but if he's doing it just to claim her vote then I'll be f**ked off! I f**kin' hate
that! I F**KING hate that!!!!
Govan has learnt something over the past 2 days and thinks John should take the same way of thinking. Govan rightly muses
'we think about things too much!' Sounds like a thread a little closer to home, doesn't it?
JOHN: If you're saying something behind someone's back, that you're not willing to say to their face ..
that's playing the game! Because you're swaying people to believe your way!
John could be of the mind set that Josie is saying all these things about him in magazines that
she hadn't said to his face during the course of their relationship. He COULD feel that she is
playing the public and trying to sway people to agree and side with her. However, I believe that
Josie would have no qualms whatsoever in saying EVERYTHING she has said about John to his face
if that opportunity ever presented itself. The likelihood of this is LOW and definitely not
forthcoming so they continue as they are. John is guilty of trying to sway opinions too with
his tweets. He is putting out an alternative picture of the one that is offered publically.
And the 'true' picture? This probably lies somewhere in the middle of what John and Josie say.
Govan defines being two-faced as someone who is friends with a person and then says something behind their back. John
swears blindly he has never done this in his f**king life - although BB footage could prove to the contrary. Govan is
speaking in general terms with his usage of 'you.'
JOHN: But don't ever think that I'm f**kin' scared to tell anyone.. (that's why he went to Rachael to tell her to her
face) .. if I haven't said it to their face there's a reason! (like maybe thousands of miles distance between you?)
Govan thinks it was fairer for John to have gone to Rachael to talk with her. Quick cut to the girls in the kitchen. John fires that he'd
seen Caoimhe pointing to him when he was walking in circles waiting for the Diary room.
JOHN: It could have been nice things.. but how did I know? She could have been bagging the f**k out of me,
for all I knew!
Govan lays another of his opinions on the line that there will be people in the house who will rile them up; they have been
chosen for this purpose. He also feels that they have been chosen for their individual qualities and how those qualities
would work with other individuals and their qualities. So there are going to be people in there who will do and say things
that they wouldn't themselves.
GOVAN: It is not dishonest if .. they p**s you off but you don't go up and say something.. because it's part
of being an adult, isn't it? (Though not very adult of him to proclaim on twitter that his former friend
is a racist after everything she did for him!)He pauses after spotting Rach and thought she'd wanted to come in
the toilet but wouldn't as they were there) We can have our opinions.. and sometimes it is necessary to avoid someone!
I don't reckon John or Josie could have pretended that they were not p*ssed off with each other when
they were in their relationship. And if Josie had tried to laugh it off or say she was fine John would
have got it out of her .. which may have inevitably resulted in rows. It is pretty easy for John and
Josie to avoid each other now that they no longer live in the same country .. or continent for that
matter. Being over 10,000 miles apart with oceans separating them; the chances of them bumping into
each other are rather remote.
John had spelled it out to Ben that she doesn't like him and gives him nothing.
JOHN: I think she is blinded by her own self-arrogance (when it comes to the likes of Ben and being better than him)
Govan hasn't seen this side of her so will not comment but thinks John was wrong to go up to Ben and say what he had.
John claims that Ben had pulled him over wanting to hear his opinion. Gov doesn't believe it would necessarily have done
any good but just caused contention.
GOVAN: How is that gonna benefit anyone though? (In the same way that when either John or Josie
speak unkindly of each other - neither of them come out smelling of roses. They don't only make
each other look bad but themselves too)
Govan considers that people will like John as he is honest and funny 'but at the same time you don't want to be seen
as being cruel, do you? Because you're not!'
From where I'm sitting, John and Josie are not fundamentally cruel people but they have both
acted in an atrociously cruel manner on certain instances. So people have changed their minds
over one or both on seeing the cruelty fiercely dished out.
JOHN: If I was that cruel I wouldn't have taken the time out to speak with her in the first place. I would
have just carried on. (AD BREAK)
A lot of people do find it cruel that John hasn't spoken more directly with Josie since their
break up .. but really we don't know how much or how little communication they have had. I don't
expect it would be a lot but we know they had some nasty phone calls and hang ups. When John gave
his Now interview he said they hadn't spoken since. He has since claimed on twitter that Josie
e-mails and messages him all the time. For all we know they may have exchanged angry e-mails
or texts etc. throughout this unpleasantness - not everything is brought out in to the public
domain. And when it is, there is always a barbaric backlash. I wouldn't bet that any further
communication would have taken place after their last twitter showdown .. but if there ever IS..
I hope they have the sense to keep it private.. for both their sakes.
Back in the bedroom, John undresses (and I think flashes his butt crack - see photographic evidence!!) then hops into bed for
a short bogey dig before proceeding with his moisturising. Josie and Govan are giggling in their bed when Josie mumbles
'sh*tty breath!'
JOHN: What was that?
GOVAN: Sh*tty breath!
JOSIE: (Sleepily banters) I'd rather be lobey lobes than my breath smell like my ass!
JOHN: What are you talking about? (clearly we missed something in the break and maybe John did too!)
JOSIE: (Retorts) Shut up!
Short chop and stop in the kitchen where Caoimhe dreams of her boyfriend becoming her husband despite disagreeing with
the institution of marriage. Shabby says she is lame but then requests to be her page boy.
Govan farts which actually sounds more akin to a duck quacking (SC) and Josie sits up from her disturbed sleep to tell him he's
'a little f**ker!' She requests that he turn on his other side and he obeys - they then flip each other the bird.
In the kitchen, Caoimhe and Shabby are in a hyper mood and make fart sounds with cups, Caoimhe snogs a camera and they
try to sexually arouse themselves and viewers by screaming 'oh yeah' and thrusting suggestively! (After the break) they make
believe they are in a cafe having coffee and a chat as though they are on the outside world. Caoimhe pretends she doesn't sleep
with her boyfriend and that she is just a piece of arm candy. They plan to go out on the lash to the club Kock - with a K with the
gorgeous-looking Raggy dolls.
They mock Shabby's scandalous flip outs (in the third person) throwing the rule book but she should now be grand. After the
acting has ended they go for a little cigarillo and laugh at how Ife is so endearing the way she takes 8 hours to get to the
point. Ife is labelled their little dolly and that nobody could EVER dislike her. Ironically, they manage to totally
twist their opinion of her 180 degrees a week or so later.
Their conversation on the bench includes: discussing how worms poo, how they've not brushed their teeth much today,
Caoimhe doesn't like to use the word 'frigging' as she thinks it is really rude, how Caoimhe would be a lesbian if she watched
Blue Velvet, Shabby can't wait to meet Caoimhe's friends, how Shabby gets in the bathtub with her friends spangled, Caoimhe's
friends think she is suited for BB as she is a nut job, Shabby's friends thought everyone would love her but now probably wish
she hadn't gone in, most of Shabs friends don't own TV's and how it might be tempting fate if Shabby asks to make sure her
friend is there on Friday.
