Launch Night of BB11

Wednesday June 9th 2010 at 9pm is the date our lives changed! 81 BB hopefuls were summoned to the Big Brother compound all keeping their fingers crossed that they would be picked as a housemate. Davina's words via TV screen in the barn to the potential HM's could not have been more of an understatement  "This is going to be the craziest roller coaster of your lives!' (little did we know it would be the craziest roller coaster of our lives too!)  

Josie (Diane Shirley)Gibson – the first one Big Brother selected. She had WINNER written all over her right from the start! The bright, beautiful, bubbly Bristolian was in utter shock when her name appeared on screen. To huge cheers she stuck her thumbs (that she was so fond of sucking) up for the press. Her VT showed her to be a hilarious country bumpkin but she was far greater than that  I'll never forget her excitable shrieks, running man and air hump just before she walked down the stairs … not knowing how the experience would change her entire life. Initially I honestly thought she seemed fun but that I was going to find her irritating :S I've never been so pleased to be so very very wrong!  Josie juicily declares 'oh, what a randy mare!' while walking down the stairs.. and upon welcoming Steve 'I don't feel like any cameras are on me, do you?' This had Davina in giggles 'hAAAAA! Josie's gonna be classic, I can tell already!' 

Josie in her best imitation of the 'Through the keyhole' voice jokes to Ben 'who lives in a house like this? .. we do!' as she puts an arm round him to show him the bathroom. Rachael tells Josie she was convinced that she wasn't getting in once Josie had been selected. She is soon miffed when Nathan enters after her and gives Josie a whopper of a kiss on the cheek and some big squeezes .. only to lay back on the sofa straight after! 

As the launch got into full swing the crowd began to chant 'PICK JOHN JAMES!!!' and erupted with massive applause when BB did just that! YAYYYYY! He swore and took the time to hug friends from the lock down period (Mark) before trying to escape posing for the press swanning past with the peace sign so Davina had to push him back. His VT showed a young, good looking guy, “just waiting for my big break.. sorting out what life's all about” who seemed to think a lot of himself. He was more than just a Beckham look-a-like but I didn't know it yet. I too thought I wouldn't be that fond of him and MAN how he surpassed my expectations. John waved to the crowd and blew a kiss to those in his group as he walked up the steps that would change his life too. 

I was disappointed with the original line up of BB HM's for the final series – it's gotta be said! Almost every one of them (except the unmentionables) managed to quickly win me over and prove why they were selected. They each have a special place in my heart too – just not as large as the chamber for John and Josie!  

Josie did greet John with a 'You're a bit handsome' as they kissed on the cheek!!!!!!!!! You were wrong there Parton Pants :P And that was the start of the summer of magic, mayhem, moodswings, meltdowns and mushiness  H'AMAZING!!!!!!!! Would I watch it all over again? H'OBVIOUSLY!!! Because I am  :) :) :)
